Ensuring educational continuity for children who lost one or both parents during the COVID-19 pandemic — so a family crisis would not also cost them their education.
Working in collaboration with the Department of Social Defence, Government of Tamil Nadu, eligible beneficiaries were identified to ensure that assistance reached those most in need. The Trust facilitated the payment of tuition and academic fees directly to the respective educational institutions, enabling students to continue and successfully complete their ongoing courses or academic year without financial disruption.
Implemented in partnership with Toyota Connected India, Kalpavriksha was more than an educational assistance programme: it reaffirmed the importance of safeguarding hope, stability and opportunity for children facing extraordinary personal loss, building resilience and supporting the aspirations of young learners as they rebuilt their futures.
